3. TEXTBOOK AND ONLINE HOMEWORK
The textbook is
Thomas' Calculus (Early Transcendentals), Fifteenth Edition, Pearson. You will be using an online version of Thomas, together with MyLab and Mastering. Please make sure to buy the version for Tech that allows use of MyLab if you do not already have a code. It is available at Barnes and Noble. If you have a code from previous semesters, you should be able to use that.

There will be regular MyLab homework, typically once or twice a week, throughout the course. You should be able to access your MyLab course by clicking Access Pearson in the panel on the left of your Canvas course page. You should access all MyLab homework through Canvas. Homeworks are posted well in advance, so there is no allowance for late submission. There are four attempts per question. In cases of medical emergency, missed homework assignments will not be counted.

 4. Lecture notes and Lecture Schedule

The rough lecture schedule is available inside the full Syllabus in "Files" in Canvas. The typed notes from which I prepare lectures are below. They are NOT a replacement for the textbook. The handwritten lectures will be uploaded in the folder "Handwritten lectures" in "Files" in Canvas.

Chapter 12
Chapter 13
Chapter 14
Chapter 15

5. Worksheets for Studios
These will be posted in advance of the recitations, in the folder "Worksheets" in "Files" in Canvas. Solutions will NOT be posted or circulated.

6. Tests, Quizzes, and Grading Policy
The sections covered in a quiz will be announced in class and in weekly announcements. Any changes to dates will be made in class and in announcements.

Quizzes will be administered via Gradescope. They will be available for 24 hours, but once you start them, you have one hour to finish them. You must submit your answers as a single PDF in Gradescope within that hour.

Tentative dates of tests:
Test 1:  Friday 31 January
Test 2:  Friday 28 March
Makeup tests will only be given when students have valid medical certificates or have written institute approval for absences.

The final exam for the A Section is on Wednesday April 30, from 8:00m - 10:50am in COC16.
The final exam for the C Section is on Friday April 25, from 8:00m - 10:50am in COC16.
Full information on how the tests and final exam will be conducted will be provided in the information sheets in the folder "Tests" in "Files" in Canvas.

The items are weighted as follows:
MyLab Homework:  15%
Quizzes: 10%
Midterm tests:  50% (the better test grade counts 2/3 of the 50 and the lower test grade counts 1/3 of the 50)
Final exam:  25%
No extra credit.

A final percent of 90+, 80+, 70+, 60+ guarantees a grade of respectively A, B, C, D respectively, though there will be a curve on the final percentage that could yield e.g. an A for a lower grade.
All grades will be posted on Canvas.

7. Honor Code
